The second Technical Chamber Meeting for Quality in Patient Care and Safety (CTQCSP) 2022 was held on Tuesday morning (26).
The meeting was coordinated by Carla Ulhoa André, technical advisor to Conass and in charge of the aforementioned technical room, and the meeting was attended by representatives of the state health departments, which make up the technical room, and guests.
Victor Graboa, President of the Brazilian Society for Quality of Care and Patient Safety (SOBRASP) and Claudia Vidal, Scientific Director of SOBRASP spoke about 2nd Congress of the Brazilian Society for Quality of Care and Patient Safetywhich will be held virtually, from 15-17 September 2022, under the theme: “Innovate to Ensure Quality of Care and Patient Safety in the Context of Health Disparities”.
KUNASS, as one of the supporting entities for the second SOBRASB Conference, is promoting discussions with CTQCSP representatives to encourage the participation of professionals from state health departments.
Teresa Cristina, Technical Adviser to Conass, spoke about the project to strengthen the State Administration of SUS, developed by PROADI-SUS, of the Ministry of Health, with the implementation of the German Oswaldo Cruz Hospital and with the support of Conass.
Data science and strategic information for the SUS State Department was the topic of the presentation by Philip Ferry, data scientist at Conass and Juliana Alves, project manager at CIEGES – Center for Strategic Information for SUS State Department.
CIEGES is a data science project, developed and made available by Conass, with the goal of facilitating access to a body of information to support decision-making and data consulting, through health information technology tools.

Felipe Ferret highlighted the importance of data science in the analysis, monitoring, detection of patterns and obtaining information, that is, systematic and reliable data to aid decision-making and the development of public health policies.
Data science brings together various fields including statistics, scientific methods, and artificial intelligence to detect trends and produce information that can be used strategically by governments and society.
Technical Room Coordinator for Quality in Patient Care and Safety, Carla Olhoa Andre and the CIEGES team are working on the Patient Safety Indicators Methodology to set up dashboards to strengthen state centers for patient safety in state health departments.
