The new BMW X7 gets a mild hybrid system

The new X7 gets an updated look and more equipment, with sales starting globally in August of this year

BMW presents the new X7 with an updated look and is now equipped with a mild hybrid system. Classified by the company as an SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle), it gets the new brand identity, which will also be present in the new 7 Series, with sales starting globally in August.

Manufactured in Spartanburg, US, the X7 features a two-part front optic assembly with LED DRL headlights in the upper area and LED Matrix headlights at the bottom, as well as a chrome-plated front grille and illuminated headlights. Also new are the redesigned bumper, reshaped taillights, and new 20-inch wheels.

Inside, a highlight is the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, which debuted on the iX. It adds a curved screen consisting of two screens, 12.3 inches for the dashboard and 14.9 inches for the infotainment system, which offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The exchange loses the traditional lever, and is replaced by a crystal button, which enhances the appeal of the luxury style.

Under the hood is a TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder engine, which is now equipped with a mild hybrid system that helps reduce fuel consumption. Acting as a generator mounted directly on the engine’s crankshaft, this system provides additional power up to 12 hp and 20.4 kgf per minute.
