The Fiocruz Touring Museum of Arts and Sciences will open to the public on Wednesday, 31, at Parque Municipal – Portal PJF

The “Mobile Science – Art and Science on Wheels” roving museum, of the Fiocruz Museum of Life, will open its doors to the public on Wednesday, 31, at Parque Municipal, in the Nova California neighborhood. There will be many educational and cultural attractions for all ages, allowing to awaken the science found in everyday life. The audience will be able to see a gravity simulator inspired by the astronaut training equipment and the vaccine game, which operates according to Brazil’s vaccination schedule and the importance of immunization for individual and collective health in a playful and thought-provoking way. In addition to exhibitions, interactive units, games and artistic interventions.

The Mobile Science project has been approved by the Culture Stimulation Act (Ministry of Tourism/Private Secretary for Culture) and is a space of discovery, reflection and magic that aims to contribute to the advancement of education in the arts, sciences and health in its mission of social and cultural inclusion.

The museum has the capacity to welcome up to 300 people at a time every 90 minutes and will be available for community visits, public and private schools in Juiz de Fora, Wednesday through Friday, September 2, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. 30 p.m. It is 2 pm 5 pm. On Saturday, the third, working hours will be from 8:30 to 12:00. Entry to the park and a visit to the museum are free, and access to the Municipal Park ends at 4 p.m. Schools interested in conducting the visit may schedule a participation appointment by phone: (32) 3241 6532.
Juiz de Fora is the first city to receive the mobile museum after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a partnership between the Municipality of Juiz de Fora (PJF), the Museum of Life/House of Oswaldo Cruz and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Viocruz). The project was presented to PJF by journalist and producer Denise Zaghetto.

Water is life: The environment consists of workshops with topics related to water, environment and health, promoting interactions, experiences and reflections on the conservation of water bodies. In this unit, visitors can view interactive artifacts such as the Na Gota D’ Água workshop, which addresses aquatic environments and their biodiversity through microscopic observation.

Exhibitions: The public will be able to see exhibitions of “Brazilian Dinosaurs”, “Brazilian Rivers” and “Energy”, which deal with topics such as evolution, art, environment, water and energy in an interactive way.

In wave transformation – mechanics: The unit combines several scientific instruments that deal with the basic concepts of physics.

In wave transformation – electricity: This unit highlights the electromagnetic properties of materials and energy transformations in different energy systems. From the scientific apparatus, the visitor sees, in practice, the effects of energy technologies on the health of the planet and society, allowing to assess their environmental and economic sustainability.
