Russian Chancellor Sergey Lavrov will visit Brazil next week

On Monday (17th), Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Brazil and meet with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira at Itamaraty Palace in Brasilia. The two will talk about the potential of the Brazilian-Russian strategic partnership, which was established more than 20 years ago.

Lavrov and Vieira will also discuss prospects for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, with a focus on trade and investment, science and technology, environment, energy, defense, culture and education, as well as promoting political dialogue on bilateral and international relations. and regional. In international forums and bilateral contacts, Brazil has advocated the immediate cessation of hostilities and the importance of concerted diplomatic efforts to facilitate the achievement of a peaceful negotiated solution.

Brazil and Russia maintain an important trade relationship. The country is a major supplier of fertilizers to Brazil and in 2022 bilateral trade reached a historic record of US$9.8 billion.
