Renato Portaluppi, now Flamengo coach, gave Ferreira simple, straightforward advice when meeting the striker from Syndicate. The scene took place before the Rio team beat Tricolor 4-0 in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey, which was held on Wednesday evening in the Arena.
The episode occurred minutes before the ball was rolled, when Grêmio’s players went to the bench at Flamengo to salute Renato, who was Tricolor’s coach until the start of this season. The photo was broadcast on Globo Esporte, on RBS, this Thursday (look up).

Ferreira was a figure in Grêmio’s recent controversy. While recovering from a knee injury, he missed CT Luiz Carvalho’s physical therapy activities, but he addressed the problem with a private physician.
Days later, he almost left the club in a failed deal during the past few hours to Atlanta United in the United States. The striker also had a stalemate with his renewal in 2020, even putting the tricolor on court.
It was Renato who transferred Ferreira to Grêmio’s first team at the end of the 2019 season. The following year, the former Grêmio coach prepared the striker as Cebolinha and Pepê’s successor, who would later be sold.
