One of the highlights of the Pixel 6 is the new camera system built into the Tensor. With that in mind, Google has released a video dedicated to showing what the smartphone can do with this combination.
We have many demonstrations, from the ability to create intelligent blur and remove unwanted objects to display HDR video in real time for image enhancement. There is also an excerpt dedicated to highlighting the partnership with Snapchat.
Speaking of photography, there are also two videos on “True Score”, which shows how the Pixel 6 is able to improve skin tone when photographing to prevent people from bleaching by keeping skin tone closer to reality.
The videos show how important this feature is nowadays, both for maintaining the identity and representation of people and their genders, after all, photography is a great way to express cultures around the world.
In demos, we’ve seen how Google’s Smart White Balance and HDR can analyze people’s skin tone to keep the result as realistic as possible.
Still talking about the camera, one of the videos shows how the Tensor chip can remove people and objects from photos using artificial intelligence. Watch the Magic Eraser function in action:
Advanced dictation on Gboard
Another cool new feature brought by Google’s AI is the advanced dictation by GBoard, which is available on the Pixel 6. See how it works in the video below:
According to Brian Rakowski, product manager at Google, Gboard Tensor uses AI to understand the user’s tone and automatically enter the results, as well as learn how to type specific words according to the corrections and the names received in the contact list.
Last but not least, there is the Live Translate service, which brings more dynamism to real-time translation with Google Assistant. For example, the user speaks Japanese, a language that translates in a few seconds and is spoken in English over the phone so that everyone can understand it.
