This is a new phase of SC Mais Renda Empresarial, which began in July, serving pandemic-affected micro and small businesses that are in compliance.
The loans were granted by the Southern Regional Development Bank (BRDE) and the Santa Catarina State Development Agency (Bades), with the support of credit cooperatives.
The first co-op that will activate credits for MEIs is Cresol. From September 22, the consultations will take place in the municipalities of Curitibanos, Campos Novos, Frei Ruggero, Santa Cecilia, São José do Cereto, Doña Ema, Iberama, Presidente Getulio, Mary dos, Tayo, Ireneópolis, Bella Vista de Toldo, Canoinhas, Major Vieira, Monteú Castelo, Ina Portoã, A Portoã and Otters, Ascurra, Presidente Nereu, Rio do Sul. As of September 30, the partnership with Sicoob will extend to 95 municipalities in Santa Catarina.
Since the launch of SC Mais Renda Empresarial, 621 credit operations have been approved, totaling R$51.14 million. “On average, R$82,000 was made available to each Micro and Small Enterprise (MPE) with an approved contract,” summarized SEF Assistant Secretary Michele Roncálio. For MPEs, the services are provided by both BRDE and Badesc. The contract amount is up to R$100,000, with a grace period of up to twelve months and a repayment period of up to 36 months.
Although credit only reached MEIs 17 months after the start of the pandemic, the measure is very important because it serves those who need it most. Popcorn producers, confectioners and many workers who lost their official jobs and were forced to do them. In many cases, the act of becoming an entrepreneur was not an option, but a necessity.
In this sense, it is important to look for institutions like Sebrae, which have highly qualified technical staff to train entrepreneurs.
SC Mais Renda’s resources, in addition to helping businesses and individual entrepreneurs, move the local economy and create a positive cascade effect in communities.
