Lula wants to create a Brazil-UK working group

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) has said he wants to create a Brazil-UK working group. The announcement was made during a press conference this Saturday (6/5) on the trip to the United Kingdom in London.

Lula also commented on the United Kingdom’s donation to the Amazon Fund, which aims to prevent, monitor and combat deforestation, promote conservation and sustainable use of the legal Amazon, and raise donations for non-reimbursable investments.

“The good news is that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has also announced investments in the Amazon Fund. We are now going to host the COP in the United Arab Emirates, and I am begging that the COP 30 be in Brazil. Amazon”, said the Brazilian President.

The Chief Executive also stressed the importance of discussing climate issues. “While discussing the conservation of forests, we should also discuss the dignified life of the people living in the area. Green industries can be created so as not to pollute and generate resources for development,” he said.

A trip to England

Lula traveled to the United Kingdom to attend the coronation of King Charles III on Saturday morning (6). The President celebrated the historic moment in close quarters with First Lady Rosangala da Silva, popularly known as Janja.

The chief executive was also seen talking to French President Emmanuel Macron before the event began. Lula landed in the UK capital London last Friday (5/5) and had an agenda with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the King.
