The most anticipated jumping competition in Brazil and the main indoor equestrian event (closed venue) in South and Central America take home the award for athletes in the International Jumping Competition – CSI2*-W and the National Jumping Competition – CSN4*, between 9/28 and 10/3. Over the course of the six days of the competition, 24 tests will be conducted, with obstacles ranging from 1.10m to 1.60m, with more than 400 thousand riyals in prizes.
In the year celebrating its 110th anniversary, the country’s oldest and most traditional equestrian club operates on its platform of leisure and parallel traditional ties, with specials for other equestrian sports, and in honor of Olympic athletes, including rider Rodolfo Riscala, silver. Designed by Romeo Loureiro Ferreira Light Jr., current SHP Vice President and Event Director, SHP Indoor includes as a main stage the Jayme Loureiro Filho Ring, opened in 1965, considered one of the largest poleless extensions in the world to achieve equestrian competitions.
Among the main attractions of the 31st Indoor, the International Series from Friday 10/1 at 4:00 pm, with a 1.45m race, and the Grand Prix Jayme Loureiro Filho Trophy on Sunday 10/3, with a spin, obstacles from 1.40m to 1.60m The first lap will be at 1:00 PM and the second at 6:00 PM. The ultimate indoor moment, the Grand Prix, has a single event show, “Challenge Car x Horse” with seven invited groups between the first, second and decisive laps. The winner also receives a replica of the Jayme Loureiro Filho Perpetual Trophy.
Among the highlights are Jose Roberto Renoso Fernandez Filho, who could win the pentathlon in the GP Troféu Jayme Loureiro Filho, and 2020 champion Marcelo Siavaglia who is looking for a third championship. Among the women, Mariana Casitare, who finished third in the 2020 Grand Prix, is a favorite to win the title.
The CSI2*-W is also valid as the second of five selective stages to identify the top three (horse/rider) groups that will represent Brazil at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, Florida, United States, at the beginning of 2022, with transportation expenses that It is borne by the Brazilian Equestrian Federation. In parallel, it also calculates points for the South American League in search of two places for the 2020 World Cup Final.
Among the highlights are the CSN4* Gold and Classic Cup – targeting Seniors, Young Riders, and Juniors categories. The Gold Cup takes place on Friday, 10/1, at 6 p.m., with hurdles at 1.35 metres. On Saturday, October 2, two unmissable competitions took place: at 6 pm, the classic test at 1.40m / 1.45m, and the conclusion of the day’s schedule with the exciting “Prova Show”, 4 bars. The courses will be designed by Marina Azevedo and Gabriel Pereira Malfati and assistant Antonio Luis Blanco Jr.
Indoor Hall 31 of SHP, in addition to the traditional annual meeting of equestrian lovers, is an opportunity to meet different generations of athletes, from amateurs to Olympians, and from juniors to seniors.
