Once again, WhatsApp decided to move the news to its messaging platform, which is the most popular of all. The app has started testing the video calling feature by sharing the link.
This means that the functionality will be very close to what some programs currently offer, such as Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, and many others.
According to the first information, the announcement was made by the person in charge of the Meta, Mark Zuckerberg. The news has already appeared on Monday (26).
Video calls will be encrypted to ensure privacy (WhatsApp brand) and can accommodate up to 32 participants simultaneously.
New video conferencing by link within WhatsApp; better understanding
First, it is important to note that video calls via WhatsApp link are still only in the testing phase. This means that it cannot be used by users of the platform, at least for the time being.
- The feature, according to Zuckerberg, will work as follows:
- The user will find a link within the links tab of The WhatsApp;
- He will be able to share the link with the people he wants, such as friends, family, and co-workers;
- Everyone will get into the same live chat room quickly and easily via WhatsApp.
The CEO of Meta did not give many details about the news. One of the points that remains open is related to the possibility of scheduling calls and continuing to use the messaging app in parallel with the conversation. What should happen, as is already possible in a shared video call within the platform.
This information takes a step forward to make WhatsApp more competitive and make Goal A company with complete solutions when it comes to internet and social networking. There is no release date yet, but it should be soon, possibly within the next few weeks.
