Users have reported that the mobile app is crashing and locking up on their device.
According to the Down Detector page, which collects reports of Internet service problems, there was a spike of more than 1,280 Instagram-related cases, as of 1 p.m. Thursday.

Terms like “Instagram” and “My Instagram” have also made popular topics on Twitter where users are complaining about the malfunctioning app.
Instagram’s press office in Brazil has yet to comment on these events.
