Instagram is down for many users in Brazil, this Thursday (22). The app recorded a widespread decline in service this afternoon, according to reports on other social networks.
Users have reported that the mobile app is crashing and locking up on their device.
According to the Down Detector page, which collects reports of Internet service problems, there was a spike of more than 1,280 Instagram-related cases, as of 1 p.m. Thursday.
Most of the complaints come from capital cities such as São Paulo, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro and Fortaleza. About 81% of cases refer to the application, 12% to login and 7% to the site.
Terms like “Instagram” and “My Instagram” have also made popular topics on Twitter where users are complaining about the malfunctioning app.
Instagram’s press office in Brazil has yet to comment on these events.
Failure can be all over the world. Other country versions of the page bottom detector Indicate that failure occurs in many other countries. Peak cases have been identified in the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, France and Italy. Like in Brazil, most reports indicate that the app crashes.
