He found the dog wandering around alone with a heartbreaking note

Last week, a dog with a sweet face and touching note was found walking alone in Tennessee, USA. Although she appears to have come from a loving home, for some reason her family left her. Touching story told Dodo news portal.

Lilo, as the lost dog is called, is soon found and protected by the Makami Animal Center team. With her was a collar dangling around her neck and a handwritten heartfelt message from her human mother.

In the note, he informed the guardian of the puppy’s name and asked the person who would stay with her to love her.

“My name is Lilo. Please love me. My mom can’t stay with me and she’s homeless with two small children. She tried her best but she didn’t get help. It cost her so much. She really loves me and I’m an amazing dog and I love being loved. Please don’t mistreat me” .

Upon reading the heartbreaking letter, McKamey Animal Center staff were concerned about the well-being of Lilo’s family. For this reason, they decided to post a message addressed to the dog’s human mother on their Facebook page.

“We are very sorry that you have decided to leave [Lilo] Back. We know that many people are struggling to take care of their pets right now. We know how hard it can be to let go of an animal you obviously loved because you couldn’t provide the care they needed. We understand,” the shelter wrote.

Furthermore, the team confirmed that Lilo would be loved no matter what, but they would like to do more for the family.

“We want you to know she’s safe and we’ll take care of her as best we can. Our staff and volunteers will love her, we’ll keep her name and promise we’ll do everything we can to find her a great new home. But if you’re reading this, we hope you’ll come forward to get her back. We’ll help her with whatever she needs to take care of her the best We can.”

In the letter, the team affirmed their desire for Lilo to return to her family, whom she loves so much, but would understand if this was not possible.

“Lilo definitely misses her, and we’d love to see her return to the family she loves. Either way, please know that we understand, we’re not judgmental, and we’re here to help in any way we can.”

Reunion

A few days later, shelter staff were able to locate Lilo’s mother and offered her to reconnect with the little dog.

In a new Facebook post, the shelter shared some details about the family’s reunion with Lilo.

“We are actively working with the family to provide them with a safe haven, shelter and resources to stay together during this crisis. We are grateful to everyone who has advocated for the family and shared our post,” the post reads.
