Sitting down to negotiate with each other on Tuesday was a minor diplomatic disaster Charles Michael, President of the Council of Europe, Ursula van der Leyen, President of the European Commission and Recep Tayyip Erdogan President of Turkey.
They would have sat more precisely, but Van der Leyen was not laid out.
The video above also shows the group leader smashing a wordless “um” and then offering him a seat on the bed. It had to sit in front of the Turkish foreign minister because it is below his diplomatic post.
The ruthless Belgian Michael did not react to the situation and was later explained by the council that the protocol was in order as they were the parties negotiating with Erdogan. It is true that, externally, the head of the council represents the EU, but the customs agreement negotiated can be determined by the chairman of the committee, not the council.
Incidentally, the current case is a perfect example of the jealousy struggle between the various presidents of the European Union, especially the council leaders and the group leaders.
