Deep Silver introduced a new Dead Island 2 gameplay trailer, showing gameplay from a zombie perspective for the first time, as well as a new cinematic trailer.
This new 4-minute presentation reveals a game based on the basics of the first episode released in September 2011, with a more relaxed tone. In an unconventional and light-hearted zombie apocalypse set under the Los Angeles sun, Dead Island 2 will put players in control of two characters: British Jacob and American Amy.
A Paralympic athlete, Amy has a prosthetic leg and knows many ways to exterminate the undead, either through physical force or with the many weapons you will find scattered all over Los Angeles. The girl is also able to enter a type of coma that leaves her controlled by her hands, due to a zombie’s bite awakening some powers.
Dead Island 2 will only support Alexa Game Control, which is intended to be an accessibility feature specific to the PC and Xbox versions, in English only for North America and the United Kingdom.
Dead Island 2 will be released on April 28, 2023 for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
