Conmebol files disciplinary action against Moreno for posting on Insta

Upon learning of the disciplinary process, Marcelo Moreno deleted the post from his Instagram account (see below).

The player has until 6 pm on Thursday (17) to present his defense.

Marcelo Moreno’s criticism came over CONMEBOL’s decision to hold the Copa America in Brazil after Colombia and Argentina withdrew from the previous stadiums.

The event was backed by President Jair Bolsonaro and Brazilian Football Confederation President Rogerio Capoclo – later removed due to a sexual harassment complaint.

Despite all the health measures promised by CONMEBOL and the Brazilian government, new cases of COVID-19 are being recorded in the delegations daily. In total, there are already 52 since the start of the competition.
