With the plant idle, the company said, in a memo, that it will implement the layoffs of 88 employees in the next 60 days and that a process has already been built in to assist in the replacement of fired professionals.

The company rated the decision as “Change the business model”. From now on, he enters the brand licensing sector and, by assigning usage rights, plans the continuity of the Saint Bier, Coruja, Barco and Catarina brands.

“The brands will continue to live, but with a different business dynamic, with production and marketing managed by the franchisor,” explains the brewery’s CEO, Bruno Braviano.

The business model reorientation plan will include changes to the microbrewery’s production process. The company will deactivate the Forquilhinha industrial unit.

According to the company, part of CSC’s product manufacturing has already been outsourced to breweries in Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. However, the St. Pierre pub attached to the mill would continue to operate.

Founded in 2007, the company gained regional fame in the first years of activity focused on the production of Saint Bier beer. The first CSC beer labels were released three years later. Years later, Coruja, Barco and Catarina merged, brands with their own identity and communication with different audiences.
