NS Barcelona On Monday, he presented a video and a new financing project for “Espai Barça”, a complex that includes the complete renovation of the Camp Nou. The club has recalculated the estimated cost of the business and now anticipates spending 1.5 billion euros (9.5 billion R$ at current prices), of which 900 million euros (5.7 billion R$) will be in the new stadium.
Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, announced that he will put the proposal to a vote at the next annual general meeting, on Saturday, with the committed members of the club, a group of more than 4,000 members, usually older. If the project is approved, it will be put to a referendum with all of Barcelona’s over 161,000 members.
The club repeats in its project that there are at least 67 stadiums more modern than the Camp Nou in Europe at the moment. The project provides financing for the full amount with “international operators specialized in stadiums and sports facilities”, with repayment expected within 35 years. Work on the stadium will begin in 2022 and be completed by the end of 2025.

Camp Nou opened in 1957, and Barcelona had a project to modernize the stadium area for 15 years. According to the club, 145 million euros have already been spent over the years, which is only 5% of the completion of the planned works.
