Actor Thomas Gehry, best known for starring in and playing Scotty Smalls in the 1993 film The Sandlot, was arrested earlier this month in a bizarre episode in which he threw a dumbbell through the windshield of your neighbor’s Jeep.

Surveillance footage shows the 43-year-old topless artist attacking his neighbor’s car in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (USA).

The weight made a large dent in the glass before rolling onto the hood of the car. After the event, Gehry walked normally through the neighbor’s yard and across the street to his house as if nothing had happened.

Authorities said the Jeep’s owner shouted to Jerry that his window was “broken.” The actor responded, “That’s bad, man. I’ll pay you back. I’m sorry. I’ll pay you back,” according to local website WMBF.

In security footage provided by a neighbor’s doorbell camera, Geary appears to approach the front door of the car carrying a knife. The police were called and when they arrived, they found the actor standing in the middle of the road asking his neighbor about the safety of his wife. He admitted to the officers who examined the scene that he had caused the damage, according to the police report.

He was booked on charges of third-degree assault, assault and malicious damage to personal property. The actor was also taken to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on June 2 and was released the next day on $1,000 bail.

This incident was not the first time someone had run afoul of the law. In 2013, while living in Hamilton, New Jersey, he was arrested for assault and battery on a government employee when he headbutted a police officer in a brawl at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston.

Gehry has appeared in numerous films, including “Black Hawk Down” and “Mystic River,” but is best remembered for his starring role in “The Sandlot” when he was 11 years old.
