Abel joined the Swiss national team on June 7 and left the club even before he completed three months in office, after Lugano’s 3-2 defeat to Sion, last Saturday, 28. The team occupies sixth place in the Swiss championship, with two wins and two losses. . Under Abel’s leadership, the club scored one win, three draws and one defeat in friendly matches. The team also crushed La Chaux-de-Fonds 7-1 in the Swiss Cup.
The club issued an ultimatum announcing the dismissal of the coach and his assistants. FC Lugano announces that it has decided, after a careful analysis of the situation, to immediately dismiss Abel Braga from his position as coach. The same decision was made about assistants Riccardo Colpaccini and Léomyr de Sousa.”
