Memorial day is the time we honor those we have loved who have died and left us their legacy.  Although originally established to honor civil war soldiers killed in war our remembering has expanded to take to recall family and friends who have gone before us.

We bear a responsibility to that legacy they gave us.  We picnic and party this weekend because your aunt might have been  a school teacher who taught her students about how government is to work for the good of people.  Your great great grandfather might have been one of the early farmers who broke the sod on the great Sauk Prairie because his family was fleeing political oppression in Europe. With that legacy comes responsibility.

Wisconsin faces a critical election on June 5th.  The Walker job loss numbers tell just a small part of the devastation his administration has caused to the values of our state that previous generations worked so hard to leave us.

Join me on the Sauk City Bridge on Monday Memorial Day May 28th at 5:00 to rally to support Tom Barrett for governor.
