Lodi, WI~

Lodi Valley News serving Lodi, WI & the Lake Wisconsin area with local information since Earth Day 2008.

We have been working very hard on the 4th Annual Brew-B-Que event.  We are now only 13 days away from this great event.

(Street will be closed from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.)

Attached you find the time line for this event.  As always we are in desperate need of volunteers from our membership to help make this event successful.   Whatever time you can spare – we can certainly use.  If it is only for an hour for set up, clean up or anything in-between – we will appreciate it! J

Our competitors are starting to roll in and we are excited!  We expect to have at least 10 participants this year!

Passes to sample the Ribs will be on sale later this week – contact Chamber office at 592-4412 for availability.  We will have a limited number of passes available.  They SOLD OUT last year and we expect this same for this year!

Passes are $25 – For this you will receive a wristband and lanyard with PIT PASS for tasting of the ribs and juding; homebrew tasting, BREW B QUE souvenir cup, and  CHAMBER koozie.   This is a great value!!!  Plus it is the ONLY way you can taste the RIBS!

We are still looking for Chili, Salsa and Home Brew entries.  Please come on board and help us get this ready to go!

New this year will be a Bean Bag Tournament.  This is a 16 team tournament that will start at 1 p.m. – Single entries are $5.00 and 2 person teams are only $10 to participate.  Winning team will receive a cash payout.  This is meant to be fun!  Tell your friends and neighbors to come down and join up!

We are excited to bring a new band to this day this year – an all girl band – NOTORIOUS will kick off the live music portion at 11:30 a.m.   Following this band will be BREW B QUE favorite Combustible Trio until 4:00 p.m.   Then we will host an OPEN JAM for anyone that would like to get up and play with or without the band.  Just a great time for some of our local talent to get up and showcase their music.  Spread the word!

From 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. we will have a special area for kids this year.  By the Historical Society and ReSale Shop will be a fun area – just for kids.  Tickets will be $1.00 each and kids will have a chance to decorate cookies, get a water tattoo, jump on a new inflatable for jousting, get their face painted and make a bracelet. PLUS MORE!

The Chamber will have a food stand that will have brats, hamburgers, hotdogs and water and soda.  We certainly can use some help in working this stand!

Karate America will hold their normal Saturday classes downtown this year as part of our event.  Stop down and see them perform!  Plus, Mr. Plumer will help us with music in the morning to create a nice atmosphere for our rib smokers as they prepare for their day!

Once again EMS will provide bingo downtown.   There was a great turnout for this event last year.  We will have tables with chairs downtown for ease of the our players to get in and out while playing.  We are excited about having the EMS group back again this year.  Bingo will start at 1:30 p.m.

We have heard that many of our Chamber shops will be holding sales and encouraging patrons to stop in and shop their stores. Don’t forget to offer some BREW B QUE special for all of the people we expect to be downtown during the day!  This a great opportunity to bring return business to your store!

We do plan to have extra Port-a-Potties this year and they will be visible and easy to find.

We look forward to this great event and hope to see you there!
