LHS Forensics Wins Tournament

The Lodi High School Forensics Team outranked 17 other teams Saturday, Feb. 21 and earned the first place trophy at its own invitational tournament. Despite the blowing snow and cold outside, the team was on fire inside, earning various personal awards in addition to the team championship.

Andrew Bulovsky (Extemporaneous Speaking), Maddie Reed (Moments in History), and Holly Hargis (Radio Speaking) were crowned as tournament champions. Second place trophy winners were Nicole Pare, Maegan Murray, Anna Wilson, Katy Lang, Jessica Timmons, Janelle Krummen, and  Emily Wimmer. Quinton Taylor was a third-place trophy winner. Phoebe Mogharei, Kelsey Smith, Greta Reed, Max Love, Brianne Triggs, Katrina Putman, Emily Stephenson, Sara Maly, and Kyle Kohl were finalists.

This completes the team’s invitational season. Overall, the team earned three second-place finishes, a first place finish, and the Capitol Conference Championship.

They have started the road to the state tournaments by advancing all 25 varsity entries to the district competition on March 9.
