Market Manger Gail Lamberty is excited about the Market's season

Vendor tables were once again overflowing the latest and freshest garden delights. We heard the thunder, we saw the lightening flash, and we dodged the rain drops. But the market always goes on.

Last Friday Don Lasee, Buck Wilkerson, and Charlie Bakken brought their guitars, wild humor and talent to the market. Rain the week before denied them the stage, but they more than made up for the one week postponement. The humor and fun comments among the three is more than delightful. “Classic Country” at it’s finest for us. Folks came to the market table to just sit and listen. Once again the sky darkened and those nasty rain clouds rolled in. We have a strict “nobody gets electrocuted” policy at the market, so they had to cut their show short. Or should I just say we’re on a rather long intermission break because they’ll play the second half of their gig next year.

Don’t miss the annual salsa contest at the market on Friday. Recycle those tomatoes into the best dip you’ve ever made. Mild, medium, hot, and “oh my gosh” salas are all welcome. You can come to the market at 2:00 buy your tomatoes, peppers, onions and other secret ingredients mix them together and be back by 3:00 to enter the contest. Tasting and voting begins and 4:00 and the winner announced at 5:30.

See you at the Lodi Valley Farmers’ Market at the Koltes Village Green 2-6 pm.
