Proposed Power Transmission Line Could Wipe Out Local Farm and More!

Lodi, WI~

Lodi Valley News serving Lodi, WI & the Lake Wisconsin area with local information since Earth Day 2008.

American Transmission Company (ATC) is proposing an overhead electric 345 kv line from LaCrosse to Madison,
passing over our home, the Ice Age Trail and across the southern entrance of the village of Lodi!

The proposed ATC 345kv overhead line would also eliminate our farm – along with the homes of several of our neighbors.

Our Key Reasons for Opposition
• Negative visual impact – Imagine the string of ugly high power poles as our “Welcome to Lodi”
• Decreased property values – For homeowners in southern Lodi & those specifically on Route N700.
• Stray voltage – Potential health impacts (leukemia & cancer) caused by stray electrical current from a 345kv line.
• Protect Scenic Ice Age Trail & Lodi Marsh – ATC proposed route N700 crosses Lodi Marsh & Ice Age Trail.

We Propose Using a different Route
• Route A327, ¼ mile south of this location, can be upgraded and used.
• Hwy 12 or Interstate I-90/39, which are already highly developed and easy to access, would be great alternatives.
• Underground Technology is available.

Wisconsin State Law Act 89 requires co-location with existing infrastructure (ie existing power lines, pipelines, state and federal roads, railroads, etc) where feasible.
