Karls Receives Doctorate Degree From Thomas More College

Warner, NH – On Sunday, May 10, Jeffrey Karls, President of Magdalen College in Warner, NH received a Doctorate of Humane Letters Honoris Causa from Thomas More College in Merrimack, NH during Commencement Exercises.  Honorary Doctorate degrees were also awarded to Chuck Piola, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, Harry Veryser, Economist and Member of the Thomas College Board of Trustees, and Commencement guest speaker, His Eminence Francis Cardinal Arinze, Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

Raised in Lodi, WI, Jeffrey Karls serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute on Religious Life and the Sedes Sapientiae Foundation, and is an active member of the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars, the Cardinal Newman
Society, and the Boston Legatus chapter.  Under his leadership, Magdalen College has earned a national reputation and was recently named by The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College as one of the eight “Joyfully Catholic” institutions of higher learning.  President Karls resides in Warner, NH with his wife Julie and their nine children.
