Lodi Valley News serving Lodi, WI & the Lake Wisconsin area with local information since Earth Day 2008.

On Friday night February 18th, 2011 the Lodi Girl’s High School Basketball team is hosting a PINK OUT night. What does this mean, and why are we doing it? This past summer our assistant coach, Michelle Puls, was diagnosed with breast cancer. After having surgery, she has been undergoing chemo therapy for the last 24 weeks. All the while teaching and continuing to coach. This has inspired the girls to say the least. She is at school everyday and always at practices and games. She never uses it as an excuse.
The girls wanted to do something to show their support. She suggested a “Fight Like a Girl” fundraiser with all proceeds going to American Cancer Society. The girls added their own homemade designed shirts and memory cards and away we went. A night in December the girls challenged the boys to a Pink Out Hour. Both teams went around Lodi trying to raise money and they had one hour to do so. This was a great kick-off.
Our girls would like to raise $2000.
We are having this Pink Out Night to show support of all of those people who have been affected by cancer one way or another. Please join us!!!!
This is where you come in. We would love to fill the gym with fans in support of not only our Basketball team, but in support of all the people that are affected by cancer. Come dressed in Pink or any item that supports Cancer. We will be selling memory/honor cards for $1. These cards will be displayed on the gym wall. People can also make Donations for American Cancer Society. There will be iinformation available about Cancer and American Cancer Society, and we will be having a special performance at halftime by the Lodi Dance Team and also a girls youth basketball game (K-6).
The other part of our fundraiser is available online – , go to find a fundraiser, search for Hope “Puls” Through, and order! Items are shipped to you and all proceeds go to American Cancer Society.
We would appreciate any support you and your business might be able to give us. If we can hang a sign in your business advertising the event, if you would like to put information about the event on your business sign or website, or if you would like to make a donation please email me back and I can assit you. We would also love to see you at the game! The community of Lodi is a great place to live and businesses like your help make our community great! Thank you in advance for your support of Lodi Girl’s basketball.
