Lodi Mother’s Day Run memorable for Mom’s and family alike!

Lodi, WI~

Lodi Valley News serving Lodi, WI & the Lake Wisconsin area with local information since Earth Day 2008.

Everyone enjoyed the day and experience of the first Lodi Optimist’s Mother’s Day Run. This was a local event organized by the Activate Lodi committee.  In review, it takes a lot to organize a sporting event like a run. To host 4 events within one ( half marathon, 5K, youth 1 mile, youth 1/2 mile) was a large task taken on by Joe Bainbridge the race director and the rest of the committee. We learned a lot and have some ideas on ways to improve the event for next year.

We had over 200 runners from California, Iowa, and Wisconsin to name a few.  At the end, we hope we see more comments like this from Lee Patzer one of the runners who came from Waukesha who blogged about his experience on his blog 98.5:

“I think I hung around just because I was in a friendly town mixed together with friendly people holding a friendly running race and I wasn’t so eager to leave those friendly feelings behind.  And was I ever glad I stayed.  When my name was called for my age division, it was as good as getting the Silver Medal on the Olympic podium.” Lee, Patzer Operations/Education Manager for Waukesha County Economic Development Corporation
