Let the rain drops come, our vendors are not afraid. Last week amidst the stormy weather 15 vendors came to share their garden’s best. Susie the duck got lost in the rain, but the Susie Sweets participants came out with desserts that brought oohs and aahs for presentation and taste.

Terri Jozwiak ran the contest with her usual great skills. Tasters were delighted! The contest is for young and old alike. The under 18 category is so much fun–including the judges under 18. One young judge said to me she had a lot of chocolate that day and didn’t want anymore for a while. Didn’t seem to matter to the tasters. Every last entry was gone. Plates were licked clean.

Fun at the market this week. Our good friend and regular customer Don Lesse is coming to the market with his guitar and his market bag this Friday. He’s gotten some friends to join him with classic country music to serenade you while you shop.

What could be better? Best garden produce you can find. Locally produced meat. Homemade crafts for your pleasure and music to serenade your shopping. Only in Lodi.

See you at the Lodi Valley Farmers’ Market at the Koltes Village Green Friday 2-6.
